Bound for Bondi Beach, Sydney
Hey everyone how are we? I'll be sharing some of what I think are the best spots to watch the sunrise in Sydney. Today and for this week, I'll be talking about Sydney's most famous beach, Bondi Beach. To be honest, I was a bit reluctant to shoot and see the sunrise at Bondi because it was a bit touristy for my liking.
Since my aim is to expand my horizons beyond my beloved Sydney's North Shore, I decided to go anyway. As soon as I arrived there, I found one of my favourite spots to photograph in Bondi. It's from South Bondi, below Bondi Icebergs pool.

What is it about this photo of Bondi Beach, Sydney that I love?
Firstly, it's the rocks in this image. I love how it gives a natural look to the whole scene. Also, it overlooks towards North Bondi and Ben Buckler. I was reluctant to shoot Bondi Beach, Sydney at first because it seemed so built up with concrete. When I discovered this vantage point, it was a nice little surprise. I also love the glowing vibrant colours of a typical Sydney sunrise.
Where and when does the sun rise during the warmer months?
At Bondi Beach, Sydney, the sun rises away from the headlands from September to February. Notice the warm glow past the headlands in this image. Check out the sunrise times here.
Popular cafes at Bondi Beach, Sydney
Well-known cafe with a social conscience. Order yourself a coffee and a feed and you'll be supporting disadvantaged youth to get back into the workforce. Heart is part of the Wayside Chapel program that provides young people the job support and training.
Not only does it serve good coffee but food runs all day there too.
A favourite meeting place for locals and tourists. Great place to pop in for a pastry and coffee. Shuk also offers a variety of pastries and breads. Great breakfast menu with an Israeli/Mediterranean touch.
